Fall Barbie Camp is near!

And if you’re wondering, uh, what the heck is Barbie Camp? Well…
Barbie Camp is DOD’s spring and fall gathering: a weekend of camping and riding in Central Oregon. We’ll be based out of our usual spot on beautiful Whychus Creek just three miles south of Sisters.

People arrive Thursday night or Friday and do their own thing for dinner. Saturday we will do a group out-n-back ride on Peterson Ridge, or a shuttle ride to the top of Trail 99 if snow permits. In the evenings we’ll hang out and socialize around the usual giant bonfire. Saturday night is a potluck, so bring your camp cook A-game and share your culinary delights.

NOTE: This is a large disbursed campsite with no picnic tables or drinking water, although DOD will arrange for a port-a-potty (or two). No reservations are needed - lots of room for everyone - it's free camping. Bring your tent, trailer, or RV. Warms showers are available in the Sisters City Park across from the fire department. It often gets below freezing at night, so prepare accordingly with your down and fleece gear.

DIRECTIONS: In downtown Sisters turn south on Elm Street. Drive approximately 3.25 miles and turn
right on a gravel road directly across from US forest road 1608 (you may see a sign). Or click: https://www.google.com/maps?q=44.245892,-121.548926&hl=en-US&gl=us&shorturl=1

A NOTE ON E-BIKES: For those unfamiliar with Central Oregon trails, E-bikes are not allowed on Trail 99, Peterson Ridge, or any of the trails around Bend. As per USFS regulations: "E-bikes, electric bikes,
pedal assist bikes, and all types of motorized vehicle are prohibited on all National Forest singletrack.” Notable exceptions being the Madras East Hills Trail System and a few trails around Oakridge
where Class-1 E-bikes are allowed.

SATURDAY-ONLY RIDERS: If you are just planning to come for the day to ride with the group, we’ll be rolling out of camp at 10:00 am. Be sure to arrive with enough time to kit up and be ready to
pedal.
