DOD Board Meeting Minutes

Wetlands Brewpub and Sports Grill, 922 Garfield St Eugene

January 13, 2025
Commenced 6:35 pm

1. Public Forum: Pokey: Pizza is set for ACM. We should get TrackTown on blast. Ben: I'll send an email out on Tracktown's pizza donation. Also include other donors as well.
2. Position reports:
A. Chair (Sean): Been working on ACM stuff. Oakshire is donating. The Pedaler is out of business – Oakshire taking their spot.
B. Vice Chair (Austin Larson): Army Corps reached out about developing some trail near the Fall Creek Reservoir dam. Reaching out to Tom Lyons to make a modern video for DOD. $1000 for two hours at ACM, some filming at a trail work party. Ben: We need to first establish the
point of the video – what is the focus of a new DOD film. We may need different clips and lengths based on where we want to post the film. Sean: I think we should move forward with a film put together by Tom.
C. Treasurer (Chantal): We got a couple big donations at year's end. I got the Schwab Charitable grant updated. I need to do our I90 tax form. We are net over $4k. We need to increase our communication on donations.
D. Secretary (Jeff Green): Lava Lake set for August 22-24. I talked to OLCC receptionist today – OLCC confirmed we do not need licensed servers at ACM. We do need to fill out an exception form on the OLCC. Drone photography is not allowed for commercial use unless
the pilot is Part 107 certified.
E. Trail Work (Mike Sheppard): One chainsaw is in running condition, two Honda trimmers –
they should be discarded. two Stihl trimmers that run, one doesn't. The 460 chainsaw is a nice saw and my friend thinks he can rebuild it for just a little money. Ode to Joy got work today – cleaned out drains and raked. I plan on going to WP to gravel the potholes on the road to protect people's wheels. I have a DOD waiver sign-up sheet from Jack Hill.
F. PR/Marketing (Ben Hansen): I met with Colin about the website and desired updates. We need to still unhitch Lee and add myself to the Google Calendar access. I got results from the engagement survey we sent out (read some results). Events rated 8/10 on average. Mode
was 10. Not many comments on improvement. NICA asked about setting up a bike wash at ACM.
G. Rides/Events (Brian Peas): Alsea Falls is getting 21 miles of new trails, getting a new parking lot – 120+ spaces. It's flagged, mapped. Team Dirt offered to help mentor and help the newer DOD board. Saw cert – March 15th, 16th in Oakridge. Must have 1st Aid/CPR. Mike S:
EMT Associates offers these classes. OTC may have some grants for people to attend.
