We know it’s a lot to ask for folks to show up two weekends in a row, but the only way we are going to get to ride the trails, is to clear the trails. We made great headway on the storm damage this past Saturday with a veritable army of people sawing, tossing and raking, so let’s keep the momentum up! And if you missed the first work day, here’s your chance to get in on the fun!

Saturday, February 17th DOD is calling on certified sawyers, swampers, rakers, and limb tossers to meet at the Whypass south staging area at 10 AM and continue where we left off. Hopefully we can start tackling Alpha, Fun Times and the trails at the far end of the network. Please wear proper PPE as in, sturdy boots, long pants/sleeves, protective eyewear, gloves, and a hardhat if you have one. DOD has loaner hardhats as well as tools, although bringing your garden rake from home will ensure we have enough. If you have a handsaw, throw that in your kit too. Pack water and a lunch; DOD will provide snacks and beverages for everyone afterwards. Looking forward to seeing your shiny faces out there again!

P.S. If you can’t make it to the work parties but would like to help fund the purchase of tools, gas/chains for the saws and food and beverages for our tired workers, click the Donate button above (https://disciplesofdirt.org/donate/). All contributions are greatly appreciated!
