Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more! We are SO close to conquering this mess! With one more big team effort, we could have the whole network cleared and open by the end of Saturday. We are looking for certified sawyers again of course, but for all other tasks, no skills are required— just your boundless enthusiasm and strong arms for tossing branches and raking debris.

On Saturday, February 24th we’ll meet at 10 AM at the Whypass south staging area where everyone will grab a tool and get their assignments for the day. In addition to fixing berm damage on Hit Parade, there is still a good amount of work to be done on the trails at the far end of the network. Let’s wrap this up so we can focus on doing the thing we love the most: riding bikes!

Please wear proper PPE as in, sturdy boots, long pants/sleeves, protective eyewear, gloves, and a hardhat if you have one. DOD has loaner hardhats as well as tools, although bringing your garden rake from home will ensure we have enough. If you have a handsaw, throw that in your kit too. Pack water and a lunch; DOD will provide snacks and beverages for everyone afterwards.

P.S. If you can’t make it to the work parties but would like to contribute financially, click on the donate button above: https://disciplesofdirt.org/donate/ Funds are always needed for gas/chains for the saws, more tools, and food/beverages for our dedicated workers. DOD thanks you for your generosity!
