The Disciples of Dirt Mountain Bike Club (DOD) boasts members from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond, but we focus our efforts within Oregon’s Southern Willamette Valley, where the club was founded and the majority of our membership live and ride. Club members share a high level of passion for mountain biking and the DOD is well known within the cycling world for being stewards of our local trails and champions for improved trail access for cyclists.

DOD is always in need of volunteers for trail work, events, communication, and more. Please sign up HERE, and tell us about your skills and interests.

Middlefork Reroute Trail

Section of the new reroute trail.

As part of a floodplain restoration plan at the confluence of Coal Creek and the Middle Fork of the Willamette, volunteers spent the weekend working on a reroute of the Middle Fork Trail. In partnership with the Middle Fork Willamette Watershed Council and the USFS, volunteers from the Disciples of Dirt, GOATS, Alpine Trail Crew AssociationTrans-Cascadia and others built a beautiful new section of trail winding through the woods. Sawyers working on incredibly steep terrain cleared a corridor over Coal Butte in preparation for the second half of the reroute to be constructed later this summer. Thanks to everyone who came out and worked so hard, especially those who drove all the way from Portland and Bend. Huge thanks to Nick and Jessie from Trans-Cascadia for feeding our hungry workers.

Open Board Position

The Disciples of Dirt have the following board position unfilled, and we would love to have someone to take on this role:

Public Relations/ Communications

The main function for this position is to get the word out on what the Disciples are all about. Using social media platforms such as Facebook, the website and Instagram, along with local media outlets, you would come up with creative ideas to engage members and the public about our events, sponsorship highlights, and upcoming projects.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please reach out to the club here:, and let’s talk about this opportunity. It’s a great way to help the club move forward, and also promote the sport and community we all enjoy.

Join The DOD

There are tons of great reasons to join the Disciples of Dirt.  Whether it’s to help protect and improve local mountain biking trail access, member rewards program or even helping cover our events. How could one argue with that!
