Come on out and hone your skills or learn new ones. Are you a new chainsaw or cross cut sawyer or would you like more mentoring? Would you like to learn how to manage a saw? Want to learn about power brushing? Crib wall construction? Are you a Forest Service volunteer needing CPR or first aid? If so, come join us.

Any Willamette National Forest group affiliated or new volunteer is welcome. Many groups across the forest will be involved, including GOATS, Scorpions, and Salamanders. Radio training will be offered as well, and there is one spot still available for a crosscut sharpening workshop.

Space is limited so as to allow small numbers for saw mentoring. Preference will be shown to new sawyers. No saw certifications will be offered during this training.

Coffee and danishes will be available at registration, which starts at 8 am. Make your own lunch fixings will also be available prior to 8:30 am departure for trail crews. At the end of the day, we welcome you back to the GOATS shop for a potluck and a chance to share drinks and camaraderie with fellow volunteers across the forest.
