Site issues

Here are some site issues that I have noticed.

      – Almost all sites I log into can be automatically logged into. For some reason this does not work on the DOD site. The user name is not even placed in the login field. I use Chrome and have not tested the others.

      – When you land on the "File Not Found" page, it has no link on it that takes you to the home page of the site. The banner on this page would normally be set up that way.

The other items all have to do with the full email subsciption that I use.

      – Some messages are sent twice. I have not been able to figure out a pattern to this. It happens with 10-20% of messages.

      – The link in the email sometimes does not work. It leads to a "File not found" page.

      – On a new topic email, no infomation is sent about the poster. This information is present on topic comments, but not the the first email for the topic. Few people sign their posts, so they are anonymous.

      – The emails should put the user name in the email from field. Other email feeds from forum do this and it makes the email feed much more readable. This does not mean that replies go to the poster. There is a "display name" that can be used.

      – The emails should have a subject header that is shorter and includes the forum, something like [DOD-Rides] and [DOD-General]. This will help in readabliity.

Apparently it is also true that your own posts are not sent to in email even when you have subscribed to everything. There's some logic to that, but I would prefer to receive everything via email, even my own posts. Otherwise the email stream is incomeplete.
