Is there an RSS feed for everything? I'm not going to spend the time to come to the website all the time to get updates. I'm ok with the new setup if I can get a monster RSS feed of everything. I'd ratther not subscibe to each forum separately.

I just subscribed to each forum seperately, and the posts are coming up on my Google Reader…  It took a little bit of clicking, but it works!

How do you subscribe to an RSS feed?

FYI, I use Google Reader. I just right-clicked on the little orange feed icon at the bottom of the topic page, chose "Copy link address", and then hit the "subscribe" button on my Google Reader page and pasted the link address into the box.  Voila!  Each message gets deposited into my reader, and I can read and delete them as needed… =)

Thanks, I'll try that.  I never noticed that little orange icon before.

I really like Flipboard, it combines a bunch of different feeds in one spot, Facebook, twitter, rss feeds, news, etc….

I use Mac Mail, so all I had to do was click on the orange button and from the page that opens up, go to the sidebar on the right. Under "Actions" I chose "Subscribe in Mail" and the RSS feed of posts showed up instantly in Mail.

I probably won't use this feature much since it's too much like a listserv 🙂 I'd rather come to the website, but it's a cool thing for people who prefer the email method…

We're working on the RSS feeds to make sure that new comments come through the RSS feed.

Some testing here.  Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain…

Is that why not all the post show up on the RSS feed?

That's exactly correct, Richard.  From a structural viewpoint, all responses to an initial post are "comments".

It seems to be better, not perfect yet, but that may be me partly… Or mostly!

Yeah…we're still working on it. I hope that more people will try out RSS readers and share their experience.

I am using my google reader through flipboard on my iPad, when I add the actual rss feed for the forum topic it works, but the overall rss feed is slow to respond.

Could it be your RSS preference settings? I'm using Mail and it is set to check for (overall) updates every 30 minutes. Just a thought…

The RSS feeds are only set to update every 30 minutes.

Kim is referring to the subscriptions/ notifications that I'm about to roll out here within the next 20 minutes.  This will be akin to opening a can of worms.  Should be fun.

The 30 minutes explains it, that’s about how often it updates.
