I received an invite to a guest presentation by Dr. Patrick Moore and thought I would pass along the information.

<p class=”MsoNormal”>I’d like to invite you to an event that Seneca and the UO Center for Sustainability are co-hosting on Thursday, October 11 at 6p.</p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”></p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”>Known as The Sensible Environmentalist, Dr. Patrick Moore has been a leader in the environmental movement for more than 40 years. He is a co-founder of Greenpeace where he served as the Canadian President for nine years and as a Director of Greenpeace International for six years. Today, Dr. Moore is committed to finding solutions to our environmental issues by striking a balance between the needs of people and the need to protect the environment. His environmental policy is based squarely on science and logic.</p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”></p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”>As Chair of the Sustainable Forestry Committee of the Forest Alliance of BC, he led the process of developing the “Principles of Sustainable Forestry” which were adopted by a majority of the industry.</p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”></p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”>Dr. Moore published Trees are the Answer, a photo-book that provides insight into how forests work and how they can play a powerful role in solving many of our current environmental problems.</p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”></p>
<p class=”MsoNormal”>He continues to push for sensible environmentalism with optimism for our future and a love of humanity.</p>

I received notice that the venue for this presentation by Dr. Patrick Moore has been changed to 1415 Kincaid. October 11, 6-7:30.

It should be an interesting perspective on forest management.
