We really, really want this to happen and are tentatively, optimistically, hoping that it will, so put it on your calendars! However…
1. If the Covid case and hospitalization numbers keep going up, we will bag the idea.
2. If it looks like we can go ahead with the plan, we request that everyone attending the event is fully vaccinated.
3. Given the circumstances, we will forego the Saturday night potluck and instead of a keg we will try to have individual beers donated by one of our awesome sponsors.
And if you’re wondering, uh, what the heck is Barbie Camp? Well…
Barbie Camp is DOD’s annual fall gathering: a weekend of camping and riding in sunny Sisters, Oregon. We’ll be based out of our usual spot on beautiful Whychus Creek just three miles south of Sisters. People arrive Thursday night or Friday and do their own thing. Saturday we will do the traditional group shuttle ride on Trail 99 from Three Creeks down through Peterson Ridge. In the evenings we’ll hang out and socialize around the usual giant bonfire. It’s our last blast before the snow flies and always a fun time! There will be one portable toilet onsite provided by the club.
Saturday Riders: If you are just planning to come for the day to ride with the group, we’ll be rolling out of camp at 10:00 am. Be sure to arrive with enough time to kit up and be ready to pedal.
