Announcing the release of Tom Lyons Media short video showcasing the Disciples of Dirt doing what we love to do ... digging in the dirt and riding bikes.

A Saturday Singletrack and Silver Screen Social

Ride Bikes, Watch a Movie and Win a Diamondback Bike

Saturday, February 22nd: Spend a fun day riding bikes, watching a movie and socializing with the Disciples of Dirt (DOD) and the Greater Oakridge Area Trail Stewards (GOATS). All proceeds from this event go to supporting our local trails.

We'll start the day off with an early ride over to the Ridgeline Trail and back, then head into the David Minor Theater to eat, drink, socialize and watch the movie, Reveal the Path. Prior to the movie showing, awards will be presented to a couple of folks in the mtb community who have given their time to causes outside of riding and digging. The afternoon culminates with a raffle drawing for a Diamondback Haanjo bike and other great prizes donated by our sponsors. Note: Secure bike parking will be provided at the event.

In conjunction with the movie, Ninkasi Brewing will host Pints for a Cause all afternoon at The David Minor Theater with $1.00 from every pint sold going to your two favorite trail steward organizations, DOD and GOATS. The benefit continues into the evening over at Ninkasi Brewing's tasting room in the Whit.

For more details about the schedule and a description of Reveal the Path check the DOD calendar.

All Comers ... All Good

DOD's annual event draws the biggest crowd ever!

Smiles, old friends, new faces, crisp air, nervous energy and a sublime chaos surrounded the staging area for the tenth annual Disciples of Dirt All Comers Meet just before riders sped off into the mist to find the trails of Whypass and see how much fun they could unlock.

With 300 riders, dense fog giving way to sunshine and melting frost ACM X was far and away the biggest and rowdiest All Comers Meet of all time. It's astounding, awesome and humbling to think that what began as a small band of mountain bikers has grown into, truly, the premiere free mountain bike event in the pacific northwest. What started with a couple dozen folks huddled around a tailgate and a six pack after a few miles has turned into a destination event with folks from several different states, all manner of abilities/riding styles, vendors, demo fleets, hot food and a six tap beer wagon!

Bikes, Bonfires, Birthdays ... and Barbie

October 25th—27th, Sisters, Oregon

On a sunny October weekend near Camp Sherman members and friends of the Disciples of Dirt hailing from all over Oregon and Washington came together for the 19th annual Fall Barbie Camp. Camped beside Lake Creek in the wide open woods of Central Oregon, the 60 or so attendees spent a fun weekend eating, drinking and riding bikes. Saturday's group ride on the Metolius Windigo (Trail 99) afforded the mountain bikers their first glimpse of an area newly charred by last year's Pole Creek fire. What had once been a thriving Ponderosa forest has become an open landscape of black and silvery tree snags revealing giant views of the snow-capped Three Sisters.
The gathering Saturday night featured the usual amazing potluck, beer provided by our sponsor Ninkasi, and socializing around the giant bonfire. Davey's birthday was celebrated, the Barbie Bike was raffled off ... and folks hung out until the wee hours of the next morning. You can read more about the weekend and see more photos on the Ride Forum. And be sure to put the 20th anniversary of Fall Barbie Camp (October 24-26 2014) on your calendars!

Trail Work Appreciation Day

For everyone who gave up a weekend or day off to improve our local trails ...

If you have given back to the trails this year, you are about to be rewarded! Life Cycle Bike Shop and Ninkasi Brewing want to thank all of our wonderful volunteers with a day of demos, shuttles, food and beer. It's all happening Saturday October 19th at the Red Covered Bridge in Westfir. Several other companies are jumping on board to sponsor this event including Kona who will be on hand with a fleet of their latest bikes to demo. Oregon Adventures will provide all-day shuttles on the Alpine Trail.

After a fun day of riding there will be a BBQ at the Westfir Lodge with beer provided by Ninkasi. There will also be a raffle with fabulous prizes donated by Shimano, Niterider, Endura, Deity and J & B Importers.

If you attended a DOD or GOATS trailwork session this season and signed in/logged your hours, you will be on the invite list ... so come on out to Westfir and join the party!
