I'm working on getting the history of the DOD as one cohesive narrative.  Does anyone have copies of the early newsletters that I can access?  Looking also for photos and memories.  The end goal is to write up a history to post on our website for people to be able to reference.

You can send me stuff at MTBFiona@Gmail.com

Sitting down with Davey or Tim over coffee would get you a pretty good history, make it beer and the stories would be even better.

After reading a recent post by Tim, I was thinking a project like this would be fun.  I think of myself as second generation DOD.  I started mtbing and DOD in 2001.  Tim and Dave took me out for my first night ride outside of Whypass.  I made my first headlamp out of a pvc compression coupling, MR15 lamp and a huge battery.  I think I have some fun stories.  A few recent years ago, Tim wrote about a night ride adventure we had around Christmas and New Year.  I may have saved it somewhere.

I have some in a file at my office. Here's one from 1997. They're all in good ol' hard copy form. Come and git 'em....or we can make arrangement to connect sometime. (too much to scan & send)

I have hard copies of DOD's original monthly flyers which were called "Let's Talk Dirty." They're somewhere... I'll see if I can find 'em.

Thanks, Davey and Al!  I think I should be able to get a ton of information from them.

I've got old slides, you know, film...Like paper hardcopy only visual.

Some were selected out and printed into a photo album I had on the counter at the shop.

I used to be somewhat of an unofficial photo guy for early DOD rides.
Some of us would be able to remember *some* of the people in them.
If you promise on the heads of everyone's kids to get them back, you could scan them. I'm in Eugene this weekend and will be again next weekend. Arrangements could be made.
