Pokey, aka Jim D. does a superior job of raising funds once a year for Doernbechers Childrens Hospital.  This year it will be especially easy and fun to help out.  Jim scheduled it in conjunction with a trail work weekend.  I would extend the invite to anyone driving by on Sunday May 6.  Here is a part of his anouncement.

"Like to invite you all to a "Beer, Brownie, Benefit" for the Children's Cancer Program. I've worked with the new owners of the Dexter Lake Club to help me bring this about. On Sunday May 6th, a trail work day, they'll offer a DOD special breakfast and let us leave extra vehicles for car pooling on the restaurant property. After trail work for a $10 donation ya get a beer, brownie and a raffle ticket, gonna be a very small raffle. This will be 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The Dexter Lake club starts their Sunday Jam at 6:00, the music is very good. Hope some of ya get by for suds, chocolate and a look at the recently renovated and resurrected Dexter Lake Club (DLC) Jim D."

The DLC is conveniently located between a LOT of trails and our metro area.  Good time to check it out and do some good!
