ODI/Ian and I rode all of Hardesty today. The descent only took us about 6 hours. We cleared 30 trees and several thickets of vine maple. There is a serious issue at 3.3 miles from the top trailhead. a 20" tree completely removed the tread. I will be notifying USFS, but it would be awesome if a crew could get up there to re-route the blowout. It is dangerous right now. We stacked a brush pile just above the hole so unless someone is energetic enough to remove the brush, cyclists will be off their bikes in time to struggle through the hole on foot. The top mile after the meadow needs raking almost continuously and many more spots after that. Below Crale Creek road the need for any work is spotty. Our big effort last fall did a lot of good. The trail is much drier as a result.

The blowout is at N 43 48.781 W 122 39.977
